SHORT HISTORY OF RECRO
1992-1995
RECRO is a privately owned joint stock company. The company was established in February 1992. Its principal activities were distribution and service of EPSON products. AUTODESK software was also offered since the very beginning. We were the first company to introduce high standards of product distribution into our small and undeveloped market of that time. Our products were provided with user manuals in the Croatian language, we developed our own solutions for the Croatian character set, introduced free technical support and organized the central service and servicing network that covered the entire country. Our quality was recognized by the end-users and also by our partners. The network of partners expanded and the EPSON market share increased.
1995-1998
At the end of 1995, we established collaboration with MICROSOFT Corporation. Besides selling software in boxes, we developed sales of software licences. Software licences became the main generator of the company’s growth, which culminated in 1997 with the highly successful software legalization campaign.
1999
We enhanced our presence in the segment of software, as well as of personal and mobile computers by signing a distributorship contract with HEWLETT-PACKARD. Owing to HP products, we increased our share in the printers and printing supplies market.
We also entered the rapidly growing networking segment by establishing partnership with global leader in this segment – company CISCO SYSTEMS.
2000
Implementation of the new ERP software – Navision Financials was completed. We also altered and improved our business process performance and developed our own management reporting system. After meeting all organizational and software requirements, we obtained the licence to consign goods before customs clearance.
We established collaboration with SYMANTEC and thereby entered the computer security segment.
2001
Our network equipment department became a separate independent company RECRO-NET. Its activities include designing, implementation and maintenance of sophisticated networking solutions for large end-users.
2002-2003
The stable growth of all business activities continued. Great efforts were invested into the improvement of the overall organization and business processes, which in 2003 resulted in our obtaining the ISO 9001:2000 Certificate for IT equipment distribution and service.
Our share in the mobile computer market was increased by inclusion of ACER products.
2005
Our printer assortment was expanded by the addition of LEXMARK products, and the computer assortment by inclusion of FUJITSU SIEMENS COMPUTERS products.
Offering TOSHIBA products, we stepped onto the photocopying machines market.
2006
At the beginning of the year, we moved all our commercial, servicing and logistic operations into new company office building. The intensive growth of all business activities continued.
2007
We became IBM software distributors and thereby extended substantially the range of software solutions offered.
We have extended our offer of networking equipment by inclusion of D-LINK products. Our Web Shop for partners has become operational.
2008
We become official Lenovo (personal computing) and LG Electronics (monitors and optics) distributors thus widening the choice of products and services in our IT portfolio.

Young, qualified, motivated, carefully selected and continuously trained employees constitute RECRO’s most valuable resource. Within the company we have a fully equipped IT classroom for internal training of our employees.
DEVELOPED IT INFRASTRUCTURE
The technology we offer to customers is also intensively used for improvement of our own business processes. It is just the development level of our IT infrastructure that distinguishes RECRO from the competition. In their everyday work, all RECRO employees use personal computers interconnected in the local area network; e-mail is the standard means of communication, and there is unrestricted access to the Internet. Large-capacity IP telephone system has been installed as well. All business transactions are conducted and monitored through the integral information business system Microsoft Dynamics NAV, which enables faster transaction processing, better cost control and high-quality planning. For better communication with the partners we have developed the RECRO PARTNER REPORT, which serves to email daily information to our partners about their order status, discounts, payments, etc. We also use an internal reporting system that allows the medium- and high-level management to monitor all major business parameters.
In the years that follow, we intend to further invest into our own IT infrastructure in order to speed up and upgrade all business operations and thereby increase our partners’ and customers’ satisfaction.
LOGISTICS – SPEED, RELIABILITY AND EFFICIENCY
Speed, reliability and efficiency are the parameters used to measure the efficiency of logistics. RECRO has plenty of storage space, part of which serves as a type D customs warehouse.
Besides standard warehouse activities, the following additional services are offered:

RECRO-NET was established in 2001 to fill the network technology gap in the Croatian market.
